I see the dates of previous flood. What about May 1981? I lived in the Pecan Park MHP and the water was almost in the mobile home. Water covered the top step. Turns out I lived in the home that was on the lowest site in the park. Others were dry enough but all the roads were impassible.
I thought the May 2015 flood had been changed to a 180 year flood, from the previous 500 year designation.

I know we've had some extensions on using the funding, but thought we had to have it completed in 7 years max. How were we able to get 9 years until completion approved?

Response to Mayor Hughson, provided by Senior Engineer, Jacque Thomas:
The graphic reflecting historic flood events are representative of the of what has occurred in the neighborhood. This graphic does not include all flood events, only those that have been determined to above a certain level. The purpose of the graphic is to show the level of flooding on the Blanco River that then spills into the Blanco Gardens neighborhood and how often that has occurred. Additional substantial information is available in the form of modeling reports that are available to public for more detailed information. The May 2015 flood as shown on the graphic does not show an exact frequency, only that it is above the 100-yr event. The graphic overall is provided for a visual talking point, it is not the final data used for the design and assessment of the project.

Response to Mayor Hughson, provided by Senior Engineer, Jacque Thomas:
The Blanco Riverine Flood Mitigation Project, as shown in the presentation, is funded by multiple grants. For CDBG-DR (which has the 7yr timeframe) funding allocated to BR the activity to be completed is acquisition/relocation which is on schedule. BR funding for construction is from CDBG-MIT (which has a much extended timeframe) is also on schedule for expenditure well prior to expiration of MIT grant funds.
