Responses provided by Jamie Lee Case, Director of Parks & Recreation:
How did the temp ambassadors work out?
Park Ambassadors are Seasonal employees like Rio Vista Lifeguards or Summer Fun/Discovery Camp staff. We had 9 this summer and they worked out great. When the Marshals needed assistance later in the season with parking lot closures due to reaching capacity they aided in monitoring as well as educating patrons of park rules.
Were we able to get them fully trained?
Yes, they were fully trained on Park Rules as well as de-escalation techniques. They held weekly team meetings with their manager to ensure they had all necessary gear and training needed.
Will we do this again?
Yes, they are budgeted for FY25.

Is this the result of a survey or do we just know this?
This is from data aggregated from phone location and credit cards purchases These were the results of the data collected by Zartico, a marketing data platform. The full Zartico report is attached.
What about the huge brown/tourism sign on IH 35 that has “River Recreation areas” - Is this a good thing for us?
They are primarily directional for people that are on their way there already.
How much better was the parking situation with the ball fields available? Without games being played more parking was available and took the pressure off the adjacent neighborhood.
Was there signage to get there?
There is not wayfinding signage specific to parking areas currently posted. We do have information on our website to provide patrons where parking is available. https://sanmarcostx.gov/3420/San-Marcos-River
Regarding spending. I need more info. Hoping it will be explained at the meeting.
I didn't go to any parks on Memorial Day or July 4 but if I went to the grocery store, is my spending in the first teal bar?
Yes, Spending by Category graphs are destination wide.
