What is Eden Village?
Eden Village of San Marcos is a proposed 30-50-unit Tiny Home community specially designed to provide permanent homes for chronically homeless individuals. Here is a link to their website: https://edenvillageusa.org/san-marcos-tx/. The City has received a request to provide assistance for the creation of this community and will be briefing City Council about the request in executive session.
Caregiver Support - I see we have reached out to Community Action, San Marcos Housing Authority and City’s WIC Program. What is the response?
The City’s WIC Program has proposed a program that would provide diapers/wipes for clients in San Marcos, and the Head Start Program, through Community Action, is also interested in facilitating this program. The San Marcos Housing Authority is determining if there is a potential program that could be augmented with this funding. Each of these possibilities needs to be vetted with the ARP consultant to determine if they are eligible to receive this funding.
Is council notified of all city-sponsored Downtown events so that we can attend?
City-sponsored Downtown events are currently shared with Council and City staff through the City Manager’s Weekly Report. We will also start sending a separate email or meeting notice for each event.
