What in-kind services did we do that are now phased out?

Does this apply to all event grants?

I see that application will be allows once per year. How often have we been taking applications? (It was quarterly a number of years ago.)
How many workshops will we offer (same topic, more opportunities to ensure applicants can attend)?

Responses provided by Rebecca Ybarra, Director of Destination Services:

A comprehensive list was not created when the policy was created. Services provided in the past include, but not limited to:

  • Traffic control/barricades
  • Park Rangers/Marshal services
  • PARD labor services
  • Parkland discounts
  • Parkland (in-kind will continue for Signature events only)
  • Portable toilet clean fees
  • Tent usage

Does this apply to all event grants?
Yes.

The current annual process has been in effect since 2010.

Once per year allows for all interested organizations/artists to compete for the total budgeted amount.

Yes, throughout the past twenty-seven years, arts funding has been processed quarterly, semi-annual, and as needed.

The challenge was not knowing how many entities would apply per period and attempting to allocate funding per period.

How many workshops will we offer (same topic, more opportunities to ensure applicants can attend)?
Six opportunities: lunch, evening and Saturday options. Emails were sent to past recipients, featured in the SMDR, social media advertising, City website, Arts Website, verbal notifications, etc.
