Thanks for the Legal Q&A.
What is our city's current policy for disposal of "personal" property?
Might mention which Type of city we are so we know which paragraphs apply to us.

What are we disposing of - just a general description with a short list would be helpful.

Thanks!

Thanks for the Legal Q&A.

You’re welcome, Mayor.

What is our city's current policy for disposal of "personal" property?

Purchasing Policy, Chapter 15, Surplus states, “All surplus computer hardware and software will be returned to the I.T. Department. For all other surplus goods, contact the Purchasing & Contracting Division for disposal either by on-line auction or City garage sale. The donation of all surplus goods to other entities will be approved by City Council resolution. The City Manager has the authority to authorize the donation of surplus material to a governmental entity. This will be documented by a memo through the Purchasing Division and signed by the City Manager.”

The City of San Marcos is a home-rule city.

What are we disposing of - just a general description with a short list would be helpful.

The City disposes of a variety of personal property like office furniture, cameras, exercise equipment, video equipment, washing machine, stove, etc. We have also, through a public bid process, disposed of transformers.
