Consider approval of Resolution 2024-181R, approving a contract with Austin Wood Recycling, Inc. for emergency wood grinding and disposal services in the estimated amount of $157,600.00; authorizing the City Manager, or her designee, to execute the contract on behalf of the city; and declaring an effective date.

Is it mulch at the end of the grinding process?
Where does it all go?
Does this company dispose of it?
Is this more than we can distribute to the public?
And use where we need it in our parks, etc.?

Response provided by Amy Thomaides, Community Enhancement Initiatives Manager:
With this contract, we have different types of grinding options. Currently, we have double grind mulch available already for the residents and city department use. When there is enough of that, the contractor will single grind and take the material to their site or another company to either use as mulch or compost.

We are generating a lot of brush right now due to several things: Electric is clearing their lines so there is no disruption in service during a natural disaster event, and severe drought and freeze has damaged residential trees.
