Item 03: Purchase of Bike Lane Street Sweeper

Consider approval of Resolution 2020-220R, approving a contract with CLS Equipment Co., Inc., through The Interlocal Purchasing System, for the purchase of a Bike Lane Street Sweeper for use by the Public Works Department in the amount of $226,844.55; authorizing the City Manager or his designee to execute the contract on behalf of the City; and declaring an effective date.

The compact street sweeper uses diesel. The manufacturer does not currently have an electric option available in the US.

All protected bike lanes in the City of San Marcos will be swept once a month, as needed, or as requested. A map of the City’s bike lanes can be found here:
