The packet explains why the cost will be higher on this next contract. What is the previous cost? I don't see it in the packet. The ARF provided that there was a $360,816.05 increase over last year. The previous contract amount was $634,925.75.
Why are future FYs on the Funds Required line? This contract crosses fiscal years since the term is a calendar year from January 1 – December 31 and a new fiscal year begins in October.
Funds Required: $ 995,741.80 $746,806.35 FY2022 and $248,935.45 FY23
What are the changes in the contract? You've noted the new Public Services building, Library extension, the labor cost increase, and that a number of their costs have increased. All that is OK. There's just no redline and sometimes we catch stuff in the contract. The redline draft (attached) has been provided for your review.
Does Goodwill still do the trash cans downtown? Easter Seals is the contractor that takes care of that service for us.
Why do we sweep non-carpeted floors instead of vacuuming them? Sweeping non-carpeted areas vs. vacuuming them has been a part of this contract since its original adoption. Unfortunately, current staff does not have the institutional knowledge on how/why this was originally negotiated, but it is now a standard practice.
