Consider approval of Resolution 2022-75R, approving the filing of an application with the Texas Water Development Board seeking financial assistance in connection with the Castle Forest Drainage Improvement project; designating an authorized representative to act on behalf of the City for the purpose of furnishing information and executing documents that may be required in connection with the preparation and filing of the application; designating firms and individuals authorized and directed to aid and assist the City in the preparation and submission of the application for financial assistance and to appear on behalf of and represent the City in any hearing held by the Texas Water Development Board on the application; and declaring an effective date.

Response provided by Rey Garcia, Senior Engineer:
I have replaced the names on the TWDB Application Affidavit as commented below (see attached) and have confirmed that the preferred option based on the current Preliminary Engineering Report (PER) is $1,341,000 which is less than what is being requested on the application ($1.6M). The cost estimate in the PER is being refined based on a new development that is in process upstream of this project and will likely help in reducing construction cost. New findings will become available later this month in a “Revised PER” and will be submitted along with the TWDB application before the due date, June 1, 2022.
