Item 09: Abercrombie Planning + Design for Fire Station # 4

Consider approval of Resolution 2023-111R, approving a professional services agreement with Abercrombie Planning + Design for Fire Station # 4 Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing Engineering (MEP) design services in an amount not to exceed $100,000.00; authorizing the City Manager or her designee to execute the agreement on behalf of the City; and declaring an effective date.

Fire Station 4 was officially opened on August 31, 2018. How long is the HVAC system under warranty?
Did we extend the warranty?
It appears that this system has been a problem for a while.
Have we no recourse with the original installer?

Response provided by Fire Chief, Les Stephens:

The system is out of warranty and the technology is no longer supported by the manufacturer. We can no longer get parts to repair or maintain the system. The Station is currently being cooled by temporary, outside units. All warranties have expired.
