Consider approval of Resolution 2023-67R, approving a Mutual Aid Agreement with New Braunfels Utilities, a municipally owned utility of the City of New Braunfels, Texas, for assistance in repair and restoration of either party’s electric system due to adverse weather events or natural disaster; ratifying the City Manager’s prior authorization for the emergency services; and declaring an effective date.

Do we have any influence over the cost factors such as whether the asssistance is on overtime, which costs more?

Costs are always a consideration before we reach out to neighboring utilities for assistance. But if we are impacted enough to make the decision to call others for support, our focus at that point is all about getting lights and heaters back on and hope that we get reimbursed through FEMA or other means after the fact.
