Response provided by Greg Carr, Director of Neighborhood Enhancement:
I find this in paragraph 4 of the agreement.
"In exchange for the Cash Grants and in-kind resources from The Partnership, the Grantee will
commit staff time and resources for the planning and implementation of the project that is the
subject of this Grant Agreement, including producing and distributing educational materials and
multifamily recycling program supplies, collaborating with The Partnership to enhance the
Grantee’s multifamily recycling services, conducting recycling program operations, and
providing additional support as the project requires in the Work Plan as set out in Attachment B,
and under the conditions set forth in Attachment A."
What will be the cost to the city, including staff time and the educational materials?
The grant is for a pilot valet recycling program for multifamily.
We currently have one staff person dedicated to multifamily recycling, including programs and projects (I.e. Bobcats Give Back and Bin It to Win It), and educational outreach (print some materials and create social media kits). Recycling implementation and education is part of their current job duties. This pilot is an extension of that effort to try and increase participation within our apartment communities to recycle. There isn’t an increase in cost for the city.
Anything that is printed for this project will be reimbursed by the grant.
