Consider approval of Resolution 2023-44R, approving award of a contract to Cedar Hill Construction for the Briarwood Waterline Improvement Project (including add alt) in the amount of $1,346,381.00; authorizing the City Manager or her designee to execute the contract on behalf of the City; and declaring an effective date.

I see the line is being moved from the rear of properties to the front of properties. Assuming this means that a line must go through their property from the street to the back of the house to tap into the old line as it enters the house. Is that correct?

Will we be doing the work in their yards on private properties?

Yes, this is correct. We will route the proposed water service from the front of the street to existing meter location because that is the only known location of the water service on private property.

Will we be doing the work in their yards on private properties?
Yes, we will be working in their yards on private property. All property owners have been notified and signed a temporary construction easement allowing this work to occur. This task is specified as “Customer’s Long Yard Piping” and is included in the technical specifications. The Prime Contractor will be required to engage a licensed plumber to complete all work between the proposed meter and the existing meter located on private property.
