Item 36: City Council Compensation & Reimbursable Expense

Consider approval of Ordinance 2022-64, on the first of two readings, amending Chapter 2, Administration, Article 2, Section 2.024 of the San Marcos City Code to clarify City Council compensation and set policy for reimbursable expense; including procedural provisions; and establishing an effective date.

Note to Council and the Public. There are increases proposed for council compensation/allowance for health insurance and additional expenses.
This is shown in the second version of the ordinance. The first version is the clean (no changes tracked) version which usually appears after the marked-up version.
Council compensation and expenses have been the same since 2015.

Request of staff - please include here the spreadsheet showing the amounts per year if council "pay" and expense allowance had been increased at the same percent allowed for staff (not Civil Service) and where the "pay" would be today.
