Hold discussion on Recommendation Resolution 2021-02RR, of the Historic Preservation Commission, recommending that the City Council authorize an amendment to Table 2.1 and Section 2.5.5.3 of the San Marcos Development Code to require posted signage providing notice of any public hearing regarding a request for a Certificate of Appropriateness; and provide direction to Staff.

Why do the signs cost $50.00 each?
About how many signs are used for each case?
More than one (assuming double street frontage, etc.).

Response provided by Director of Planning, Shannon Mattingly:
The cost of the sign includes the actual sign, the stakes, the vinyl facing and the cost of printing all the signs on the vinyl as well as the staff time to print and assemble and put on the property. Generally, there are one to two signs depending on the location. Currently an applicant only gets charged the $13 technology fee and there are no other fees for staff time including the staff reports, site visits, etc.
