Seeing as this is the exploratory phase, will there be a "plan B"? IF in the permitting process it is declared unfeasible, will the County pivot to still help build a park there without the restoration of the Dam and Mill race? Is this about building a necessary park on the East side, or are they solely willing to partner to restore the Dam?

Will the History include the use of this area by indigenous peoples and the subjugation of black people by white capitalists? Or will it instead focus on "economic prosperity they brought to the area"?

Will the County use the bond funding recently approved to pay for any of this planning/permitting/construction?

Seeing as this is the exploratory phase, will there be a "plan B"? IF in the permitting process it is declared unfeasible, will the County pivot to still help build a park there without the restoration of the Dam and Mill race? The County has stated previously that they would like to see a park developed that includes rehabilitation of the dam. The City and the County wish to collaborate in the formation of a plan for the Cape’s Dam Complex. Is this about building a necessary park on the East side, or are they solely willing to partner to restore the Dam? While the previous answer seems to apply to this question as well, it should be noted that the County is currently working on an eastside park project that is off of Cape Rd.

Will the History include the use of this area by indigenous peoples and the subjugation of black people by white capitalists? Or will it instead focus on "economic prosperity they brought to the area"? The historical importance and relevance of the dam as a whole will be evaluated. That will include all matters of its history.

Will the County use the bond funding recently approved to pay for any of this planning/permitting/construction? To the best of our knowledge no Hays County bond funding will be used to pay for any part of this project.
